Great Barr Conservative Club (situated in Birmingham) was set up in 1957 and has played host to many shows and events over the years. The club was welcomed various music acts such as The Black Country Beatles, The Glamophones, Tipitina and Ricky Cool & The In Crowd. It regularly holds charity quiz nights, karaoke evenings, open mic nights, ballroom/sequence dancing evenings, yoga classes and even bell target shooting.
It is also the local social club for Tom and where he has done most of his performances.
Starting out with performing at 'The Blue Monkey Club' open mic nights held at the venue from October 2012, Tom has become a familiar face and got to know the club and its members. As an early opportunity, Tom was a guest singer for Lads Vegas, a Rat Pack tribute act who occassionally performed at the venue.
Tom would first host a show on 14th March 2015 - a University fundraising concert, called 'An Afternoon Of Song & Dance' (with several members of his university class selling cakes, helping out, etc) with Tom singing various songs.
Tom would return there for his own 1st solo show on 18th July 2015. Since then there has been at least 2 / 3 of Tom’s concerts at the venue each year. Usually money is raised with a raffle for the club's yearly chosen charity (MS Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, The John Taylor Hospice, etc). For Christmas events the raffle’s proceeds go to 'The Children's Christmas Party'.
Tom has also started singing at the new 'Boogie to Ballroom' dance nights with his dad, Andrew as the DJ. The first which held on 2nd Ocotber 2021, was successful with a good turnout. These evenings are planned to be held 3 times a year.
